How to Wash Graphic Tees Without Cracking or Fading?
Washing a graphic tee is a common question, mainly because doing it improperly can damage the graphic design on a shirt. One way to avoid this is to gently soak the shirt in cold water and mild detergent before washing it. Follow the next few steps to avoid damaging the graphics.
Step 1: Before washing, always turn your graphic T-shirt inside out. This protects the printed design from friction during the wash cycle.
Step 2: Wrap a damp towel around the shirt, then gently squeeze out the water.
Step 3: When you have wrung out all of the excess water, put a towel on top of it and press with a flat object until all of the excess is pressed out of it. This will help reduce any fabric shrinking or shrinking of your graphic tee if you decide to dry it first. If not, simply let it air dry outside or on a flat surface on the first floor without any heat. The shirt will not shrink completely.
Step 4: Once washed, give the shirt a quick dry by leaving it alone in the open air or on a flat surface with no heat for approximately 20 minutes.
The biggest factor in how well the graphic tee will weather is when you choose to wash it. You can be sure that when you treat your graphic tee with care when washing it, it will last for years to come!
